As a Project Manager delivering great service is something I’m very proud of and I want to share with you what exactly Project Managers do and how we work with our clients to deliver fantastic projects. I’d love to tell you how we manage our projects and what to expect from our amazing team.

Creating a new website for your business is exciting and it can promote your company to a whole new level and as your Project Manager we are with you every step of the way!

Here at Coast, we approach project management with careful planning and dedication to making the process as smooth, stress-free and successful as possible.

In this blog, we’ll take you through exactly how we manage and oversee projects here at Coast Digital.

Working with a team

First of all, we will take you through your project step-by-step, explaining what will be done and who’s going to be delivering it. A really important aspect at the start of any project is the team. We want you to get to know the key people that will be making your vision a reality. It’s our job to confirm who you will we be working with, who your key contacts and decision makers are and importantly, confirmation of milestones.  Naturally, there will be changes along the way, but with careful planning at the start of the project we help to mitigate against risk. We have to accept that some changes are also inevitable and no matter how much we prepare for them it’s part of a project lifecycle – this is where Project Management is a crucial part of any project. As a team, we discuss the impact of a change to the project and present our recommendations on how to move forward in the best way.

Communication is key

As the old saying goes ‘Communication is key’ and well…it is! As a Project Manager, we will always be upfront and keep lines of communication open to make sure everyone understands what’s expected of them, agency and client alike. This vastly reduces any chance of a misunderstanding or confusion. As a client you and your team will always be kept up to date with what’s going on which means any questions you have are addressed quickly and effectively. We will set up regular meetings with you to keep everyone briefed on each other’s progress, we can discuss milestones, changes in circumstances, feedback, budgets and ensure no information is missed or lost. This will help us develop our relationship and build up trust, after all we are all on the same team.

Setting realistic goals

We will set realistic boundaries and goals. We share the same goal; we want your project to work for you and your business! We will agree on objectives and limitations before we start the project, this means that everyone will have a clear understanding of what can be achieved and when. Project Managers make things ‘happen’ but we are not ‘Yes’ people, we need to be transparent, if we have to say No then we will explain why and offer another suggestion which may work better for you.

What tools do we use to manage your project?

Here at Coast, we use tried and tested packages which means projects run smoothly and enables us to communicate with multiple teams and our clients at the same time. Teams, Trello and Teamwork are our preferred platforms and we’ve found these to be great way to interact with team members and our clients. These systems provide everyone with full visibility of our projects and reduces time spent on admin, minimises risk and ensures that any issues are raised and dealt with quickly and efficiently.

And finally, your project should be something you enjoy being a part of, it should be something you look back on with pride. Your success is our success, we want you to have a great experience and feel accomplished and happy with your Project. Project Managers are there to assist and guide you every step of the way and we will help you raise your business to the next level.
