A fantastic new-look website for Waterscape

Coast Digital is delighted to announce the launch of the new Waterscape website for British Waterways. The development of the site has been a long-term project involving a range of Coast Digital’s services, including consultancy and online marketing.

Waterscape.com is Britain’s official guide to canals, rivers and lakes. It is owned by British Waterways who look after the nation’s 2,200 miles of inland waterways.

At the outset of the project we conducted a user experience review of the existing website. From this we produced a series of recommendations for improvements.

These recommendations were carried forward with the development of wireframes and revisions to information architecture. Design templates were integrated to the client’s content management system.

Throughout the project and as the site took shape, we advised the client regarding optimisation. In conjunction with this activity we produced a best practice guide for search engine optimisation.

The end result, which launches today, is a new British Waterways website which offers a complete guide to enjoying life by the water. The site is easy-to-navigate and creates a strong sense of emotional engagement.
