Web design made easier with Photoshop 4

Of all the new features in Photoshop 4, I am most excited about the new Content-Aware Scaling feature.

When laying out a website design I tend to spend way too much time sourcing images that will suit the design, and more importantly, the design layout. This is a task that all designers have to contend with and unless the client supplies good quality image files, one that will always be necessary.

More reasons to love Google Webmaster Tools

Webmasters around the globe have been jumping with joy after a recent addition to Google webmaster tools: http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/.

Google have recently released a new feature which integrates into the existing Diagnostics > Web crawl menu in Webmaster Tools. Currently, Google is the only major search engine not offering RSS feeds of web search results.

If your site is built on a content management system (CMS) you’ll no doubt have the ability to make updates and add content to the site yourself.

The process of updating text and images is generally straightforward, but at times the web editor can unwittingly introduce formatting into the page which can radically throw out the design and structure of pages on the site: a design that you and your designer have worked hard on to get right.

Celebrate Google’s 10th birthday!

As Google is now 10 years old they have released a special birthday gift for all their fans.

We’ve had great fun looking back at the search engine results pages using this tool.

It really shows how much search engine optimization and paid search has changed the shape of how we click on results.

Enjoy!
