Google adds 'Safety Mode' to YouTube

Today's big internet story may be all about Google Buzz, but it's not the only new feature being announced by the search giant today.

According the official Google blog, today sees the introduction of 'Safety Mode' to video site YouTube.

Essentially, Safety Filter is rather like Google's SafeSearch, and you can use it to filter out certain types of material. On the blog, Google gives the example of using it to ensure younger family members don't see graphical violence in a war report.

Google admits that the filter isn't 100% perfect, but believes it's a step in the right direction. It also coincides with UK government campaign to promote children's safety online.

You can learn more about Safety Filter from the YouTube video below - and if you'd like to talk to us about integrating multimedia into your own digital direct marketing campaigns, please let us know.
