Blogging the most neglected social media channel for businesses

New research by dotCommerce has found that businesses are missing out on opportunites offered by social media.

According to its report, So-Commerce, only 42% of 100 surveyed retailers had a social media presence - measured as being a blog, Twitter account or Facebook page.

Only 26% of businesses had a Twitter account, 24% a Facebook page and - remarkably, given the SEO benefits they offer - 8% a blog.

The low number of blogging businesses becomes even more of a concern when the 8% figure is deconstructed. Half of that number posts monthly, and 12% updates even less frequently.

Although the sample number was relatively small, there are clear lessons to be learned. If you have a business, social media can help you reap rich rewards - especially if your competitors have been slow on the uptake.

So, give your business the edge - talk to us today about social media, blogging and online marketing.
