Background
Hilton Racing is the brand that celebrates Hilton’s sponsorship and partnership with the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula One team. Its F1 & HHonors programme is a loyalty card scheme with a twist. It combines the excitement of Formula 1, the success of Vodafone McLaren Mercedes and the luxury of Hilton Hotels. It’s also completely free and, thanks to help from Coast Digital, is now reaching a much wider audience.
Challenge
Hilton Racing had an existing website built on the open-source content management system, Joomla. The company needed to revamp the site whilst retaining the existing CMS, and it wanted it to better promote the Hilton Racing programme, encourage people to sign up for free membership, get them involved in the F1 & HHonors scheme, and ultimately use Hilton’s hotels on a more regular basis. Hilton Racing also asked Coast Digital to undertake a link building programme to help increase sales volume, develop brand awareness and drive more people to the site.
Solution

Coast Digital created a new site with a crisp and attractive design, aimed specifically at Hilton Racing’s target audience. Clear navigation ensures visitors find their way about easily, and there is a vast amount of eye-catching content combined with strong calls-to-action. Effective SEO was built into the site at every turn.
Initially designed in Photoshop, www.hiltonracing.com went from the drawing board to finished article in two-and-a-half weeks — ensuring it was fully live in time for the new Formula One season.
Coast also compiled a link building strategy to help boost Hilton Racing’s search engine rankings.
Results
The project once again proved that Coast Digital produces excellent results within the tightest possible timeframes. We also worked with three agencies on the project, demonstrating our effective project management.
The new website is racing to the top of the search engine rankings. Thanks to Coast Digital’s link building programme, the site now ranks first on Google.co.uk for the search phrase “Grand Prix Hotel”, second for “Racing Hotels” and in the top four places for a variety of other desirable search terms.
2009 looks set to be the year in which the Hilton Racing programme will make great strides in terms of public perception and membership. One thing’s for sure: www.hiltonracing.com is a clear and accurate statement that this is a scheme that’s going places.
