  • The existing e2v website had become difficult to navigate and maintain.
  • Growth over a number of years had led to inconsistency, legacy information and complex navigation, resulting in potential confusion for customers and staff.
  • The challenge was to define the core business, and create a robust interface clearly setting out e2v’s key markets.
  • The new website also needed to give the company a clear corporate identity.

  • Their 3 core market areas are: Medical & Science, Aerospace & Defence, and Commercial & Industrial.
  • e2v has approximately 1,800 employees worldwide.
  • Established for over 60 years, the company was floated on the London Stock Exchange in 2004.

Online strategy

  • Development of a clear website strategy requiring streamlining of complex content.
  • New website to be based on a content management system (CMS), enabling a consistent look and feel using standardised templates.
  • Internal workshops used to develop a thorough understanding of client requirements.
  • Development of an engaging corporate website interface, offering ease of navigation. The new site needed to make the most of connections within the organisation and with customers, suppliers and stakeholders worldwide.
  • Development of creative concepts and wireframing.
  • Standardisation of inconsistent product descriptions; creating ease of understanding for customers.
  • Development of an integrated investor relations section displaying real-time company share prices, consistent in style with the rest of the website. Produced in association with Hemscott, a specialist in online investment sections for plcs.
  • Development of flash animation and striking creative on key pages to engage users.

  • Very positive, complimentary feedback received from the investor/financial community.
  • The website was developed using Refresh, a CMS system giving non-technical staff complete control over all future updates and content changes.
  • The structure and build of the site enabled search engine content indexing, and has created a much higher profile for e2v in natural search.
