Office Space Undergoes Refurbishment

Coast Digital has been a resident of Beacon End Courtyard in Colchester since our formation back in 2002.

Originally part of ‘Beacon End Farm’, a 14th-century hall house, the Courtyard consists of three structures that were initially built to house livestock and various other agricultural tools. The largest of these outbuildings is a Grade II listed barn that still retains much of its original character with exposed beams and more.

Now converted into six separate office units, Coast Digital has had the pleasure of occupying three of these units over our 12 years residing in Beacon End Courtyard. Up until our most recent move, the team was split between two units with a small gravel car park separating the two.

It’s difficult to imagine, but in our time divided between the two units we discovered that even something as small gravel car park had a habit of causing distance between our teams. As a result, the decision was made to bring the two teams together again by moving into the unit next door and merging these two units together in a new open plan office.

Over the past month we’ve completely refurbished our new office space with brand new carpets and sparkling new furniture. In our production office, we also now have a new bistro installed to handle the sudden increase in users, along with a never-ending supply of refreshments for all of our employees.

The work hasn’t finished there – we’re delighted to be in possession of a fantastic new meeting room in which the largest wall can be used as a whiteboard to record all of our creative thinking. The board table is on wheels and can be split into four separate desks re-arranged as necessary, or simply folded away and moved out of sight completely.
